Hi Guys

Dear Secretary - River City 4WD Club,
We've been flat-out this past month, testing many of the new 4WD wagons and utes that were released in late 2015.
We drove the new Toyota Fortuner and the HiLux, and we've done a five-vehicle comparison of extended-cab utes.
On the electrical front we checked out three pairs of Hella's latest budget-priced halogen driving lights and revealed LightForce's brand-new hybrid HID-LED combination. A test pair is on the way.
We also reviewed Redarc's breakthrough Manager30 battery management system that's lithium-battery-capable and we have one of these to test in our slide-on camper over coming months.
Bush Winch is an alternative to battery-powered winches and we gave one a thorough workout.
Tyre testing showed up some serious issues with Bridgestone's D674 mud-terrain tyre.
Following many requests from OTA site visitors we're running tag-along tours to Cape York in 2016: one is a no-camping, motel-accommodation trip and the other is an extreme experience, with 4WD skill challenges, visiting rarely-seen places. Both tag-along tours are designed to be instructional as well as highly enjoyable. Check out the tours at Discover Cape York.
Have a safe Xmas and New Year season - might see you on the Murray River!

Allan Whiting and the OTA Team.

Superior Engineering would like to support the River City 4WD club
Posted by: troopiepete - 19-11-2015, 06:44 PM - Forum: Vendor Advertising - Deals for members - Replies (1)

Hi Peter,

As a local,  Australian owned company, Superior Engineering would like to support the River City 4WD club.
We were wondering if the club would like to take up the opportunity, of getting ongoing discounts and also a bonus for the club itself.

Superior Engineering would like to offer the Club and its members a 10% discount on all purchases.
We’d also like to offer an annual bonus of $500 in stock or vouchers, if club purchases total over $5,000 each year.

We manufacture and sell a range of high quality, street legal suspension components and a whole range of 4WD accessories.
We also do fitting at both our Burpengary factory and Deception Bay store.
As an Ironman store, and stockist of gear like Piranha, Lightforce, ERPS, MSA and others, we will have all your 4WD needs covered.

We would also be happy to send staff members to a club meeting as in introduction, or even have a club night/bbq at the store, if you are interested.

If you are interested, or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.

Regards

Matt Cook

  Discounted K.I.S.S. Drawer Slides
Posted by: troopiepete - 02-11-2015, 12:42 AM - Forum: Vendor Advertising - Deals for members - Replies (1)

Hi
We have received this flyer on the clubs email address, thought some of you may be interested.
They are only selling the white material that your draws can slid on - good stuff we actually use a similar material here at work and it is very hard wearing and ultra slippery and is a similar material to what is used in the industrial world for bearing surfaces when non metallic bearings are needed - mineral crushers is just one such item.
The Club has no ties to this company and do not endorse it but willing to let you guys know of it's existence.

ABSOLUTELY NO MAINTENANCE!

PLUS YOU CAN DESIGN YOUR DRAWER TO USE ALL THE AVAILABLE SPACE!

Please check out our eBay listings under KISS draw slides or contact us by return e-mail with any questions you may have.
As you will see we have tried to keep our prices extremely affordable while still offering FREE postage to any location within Australia. However for taking the time to view this e-mail we would like to offer all your members an additional 10% discount on our already low, postage paid prices.
For any members wishing to purchase through our eBay listings all they need to do is 'Make An Offer' of 10% less on any one of our 'Fixed Price' listings and in the comments section state your CLUB NAME and we will honour the discount. For those wishing to purchase direct from our warehouse please contact us by e-mail. However to keep our costs down we do not have credit card facilities so payment is via electronic transfer or cheque. Anyone wishing to use their credit cards can still do so by purchasing via eBay.
Thank you again for your time & please note this offer is only valid until DEC 31st 2015.

Regards,
The Team at K.I.S.S.

Boonah / Duck Creek road day trip
Posted by: White Bush Pig - 27-10-2015, 08:43 PM - Forum: Past trips - Replies (9)

Hi All!
This day trip on Sunday 8th November will be lead by Steve (Weatherman).
Meeting at Hungry Jacks at Beaudesert at 8am for breakfast and leaving at 8.30am sharp.
Heading out to Boonah and then back through Beaudesert out to Duck Creek road, stopping around half way up at a picnic area for lunch.
(Remember to bring some gold coins for the donation box at the start to Duck Creek road, as approx. 5km is privately owned and these funds help towards maintaining the track).
After lunch continuing up the track to the end at O'Reilly's before returning back down Duck Creek road and then onto Beaudesert again.
This trip should not difficult, though if there has been a bit rain then Duck Creek road can get a bit slippery. Should just be a great Sunday drive.

Things to bring:
Recovery gear (should be standard anyway).
Own lunch and drinks.
Gold coins for donation.

UHF Club channel 28.

Reply on this thread if you are able to make it.

Regards,
Kris (Trip Coordinator)
