Sundown National Park - 10th November
We have a working bee on the 10th of November for the old entry track that is no longer maintained..
This event is shared with the Ipswich 4WD club and they apparently have 17 cars attending so I would like to try and get support from our members.

Please let me know ASAP if you are able to attend.

Meeting point, Servo Glenaplin @ 8:30am

Please let me know if you can attend also if you are and running late please also let me know..

As the trip is part of the CARE plan it would naturally fall to Jason, that is unless he is not going.

Re: Sundown National Park - 10th November
I am coming, somehow I missed this a reply to this post. Bit confusing we have at least 2 posts re this one.

I will be travelling to Stanthorpe on Friday nite and staying at FIL's and heading into the park on Saturday morning. Peter, might I suggest a change of meet up point for the Saturday people. Move it to the Caltex/McDonalds on the north side of Stanthorpe, much better facilities for those that are early. Leave it at 8.30am.

If nobody indicates that they are coming on Saturday, I'll just drive on down Saturday morning.

Hi Pete,

Wade, myself and troy (new member) are travelling up on friday morning. Planning on meeting up at my place at Silkstone about 8.30, doing a quick detour up Spicer's Gap Rd on the way. Once we get up there we are going to set up camp at Red rock gorge.

Anybody else are welcome to join us, let me know and I can give my address.

Daggy - would you be able to bring the club shirts I ordered, Thanks

Bad news, Old Caves Winery has closed its doors, and with it a fine port. It's now a saddlery, if your after some horsey stuff, it's your place.

If your after a good reliable bottle of local wine, stop in a see Angelo at Ballendean Winery, last winery on the left as your heading for Sundown.

Re: Sundown National Park - 10th November
Hi Johnny,

We are taking a detour up spicer's gap rd on the way down on friday. We can stop at vinchenzo's on the way down or coming home.

Ipswich club are arriving at around 9am I think Pete said. Apprently the track doesn't need a overly great amount of work. Once we have finished working we can go for a drive in the park.

Will start to head home around midday, see what happens.

Re: Sundown National Park - 10th November
I had a call from one of the Ipswich club, they should be at the park by 9 to 9:30am on Saturday.
I have filled out paperwork for insurance, no cost involved but hours may be limited on a per year basis - 4WDQLD is still trying to find out more details on this.
So I have put us down for 6 and only working 2 hrs as this is what the other club has done.

I will be heading up on Friday night departing Underwood around 6:15pm it takes around 3.5hrs to get to Sundown, so I will be there quite late.

Re: Sundown National Park - 10th November
What a great weekend, this is what it's all about. I actually managed more mud from the one water hole on the road into and out of the park. At least I've got all day Monday to clean.

Great to meet new member Troy. A shame we didn't actually get to do any track maintanance except for that one spot.

It may have rained (an understatement) but we still managed a fantastic campfire.

Re: Sundown National Park - 10th November
Totally agree on that one Darryl,

It was a good weekend just wish the weather was a tad dryer but as said we had a top fire and Sunday was beautiful, it's a shame I had to work last night or I would have seriously looked at staying another night..

See you all Wednesday night.
