The build up of Hekarewe
Well Troopie pete sudjest that i do a build page for hekarewe on here as it may interest some of you and may even inspire poeple to go in a symilar direction,,,, who knows

the patrol was brought in Nov 2010 and replaced my much loved 1988 pajero, (the origanal hekarewe)

i was actually looking for a 4.2 diesel patrol but could not find good one for love nor money and was shown this by the sales man whilst Danielle was test driving her nissan tiida. he talked me into a test drive and when i saw it had never been off road and the letter from the prievous female owner in the log book saying how she enjoyed it and how she wished the new ower many happy years of motoring in her i just had to have her (i am sure when she wrote that note she had no idea of what her beloved patrol was going to be in for)

so let start with some shots of the origanl Hekarewe and some of places i use to take a basicily standard pajero this one had a 2.6 astron motor and manual supprising what can be achieved on 31 inch tyres and a 2 inch lift.

Re: The build up of Hekarewe
right now onto the current Hekarewe

Nissan Patrol ST-L 3.0lt diesel manual aug 2003

purchased in nov 2010 standard one owner factory fitted alloy bar and nissan driving lights that was it!!!!

Even the roof rack has a little history behind it, it actually came of a friends nissan patrol and we had to fabricat new footings and extenders to get the rack high enough to fit the roof of the pajero and close in to fit the narrow roof. when the patrol came along i then had to buy new footings to make it standard again as we had butcher the origanal footings converting it.

now for some more light mods

after breaking one of the blank lens on the back of patrol on hill called ball bearing hill in the glass house mountian with the ipswich club i was shocked to find the nissan wanted $260.00 for one blank lens so it was on the net and an email to CARS r US and $140.00 later i had working lights for both sides brake tail and indecators and revers lights and wiring looms

then came the work light fitted to the roof back of the roof rack both with help from nissan patrol memebers

Re: The build up of Hekarewe
rod holders

taking 4 fishing rods to cape york 2 surf rods and 2 short spinning rods, but how to carry them up there with out breaking them and with out having them in my way also need to be able to access them quickly if an oppertunity arises to have a quick fish. what to do? got an idea from one of torques 4x4 clients who had the small rods fitted to the front of the lad barrier in behind the back seats. so with idea in mind it was of to Charlton fishing at red bank and we hit the jack pot with a set of Berkly lock ring road holders which are now fitted to the front of my load barrier behind the back seat and yes i have included some pictures of how it all looks now it is fitted. tomorrow it is off to masters to buy some PVC and then clark rubber to build a set rod tubes for the roof rack will p[ost up photos after they are done
