If not Sundown I still have the key for the telstra track at main range np I need to use this could be a day trip on the saturday maybe?

Day trip at Main Range sounds alright. I'd get left with all the kids for the next 2 weeks if I had a weekend away, especially fathers day.

Hello

Both the day trip and the overnighter both sound great

But because of fathers day my first choice would be the track but Sundown can simple be pushed back a few weeks

It is always cool at sundown just nice for a work partly

Got the ok from the ranger, they had too remove 2 trees over the track.

A small change in plans. I am working early saturday morning (start 4am finish between 8 - 9am).

I will meet everyone at the BP at Aratula between 10 - 10.30.

It's only a small track 4km which joins from the Governor's Chair to Spiciers Gap Rd.

My mob is 0410813994 or club uhf 28

Cheers

Hi Jason . Unable to attend Spicers Range. I think you will get a few for Sundown now that you moved it forward. The school holidays end on the 5th of october and i will be keen on coming after this and making it a 2 nights trip by departing on the friday evening if possible and camping at our RC4X4 winter camp site

This thread seems to be a bit doom and gloom, so to continue in that vein, I can't make it either. I have a number of reasons, firstly work (which pays the bills), and still fixing what now appears to be the multitude of problems caused by the Cape corrugations and rebuilding the cargo area.

Like Pete said, plenty of photos and write a good report. Make us envious that we didn't go and will make sure not to miss next time.

On a positive, I think it an exclusive tour through a locked gate and that makes me feel privileged. Cool

RE: Sundown
Hi All,

We all had a great day exploring Main Range National Park. After some much needed caffine and a quick feed we started out from the BP servo at Aratula. Can't believe the price of diesel there 1.47.9! We made our way up to the Governor's Chair where the start of the Telstra Trail is and also a great lookout where you can see a view of Lake Moogarah.

Time to break out the key and finaly we get behind a closed gate!

Mick you still need 4wd!

We drove the trail down and back up, I had to return the key to the ranger's office on the southern side of the gap. So we drove it again! Back out to the highway.

After Spicer's Gap Rd we headed over to the Goomburra Section of the park to check out the lookouts on the other side of the range.

I would like to thank Steven Finlayson the RIC of Main Range National Park. One for giving us access and two for patiently waiting for me to use the key. I have had it for a long while!
