4WD Drive  13th - 18th November Beach Trip
Hi Gang

It seems a trip that I was going on for a Birthday bash has been canceled and I am left with the almost week free and itching to go camping!

There are a few ideas on my mind..

1/ Fraser Camp on the West Coast..
2/ Morton - closer to home...
3/ North Noosa..
4/ Destination unknown - maybe you have a location I could try out.. South Ballina as an example?

If you too have the time and an itch let me know as at this stage I am Pat Malone..

Hey Pat

If you have never been to South Ballina, it is a stretch of beach that on a good day you can drive all the way to Evans Head. It all depends on the amount of sand that is around, down the southern end there are large coffee rock cliffs that are usually unable to be driven around at high tide. A bit like Mudlo Rock at Rainbow. Also no free camping on this stretch, Caravan Park/campground at both Evans Head and South Ballina. At South Ballina the better one nearest the beach is/has become very alternative.

A little further down the coast is Black Rock Campground in Bundajalung National Park. Camp grounds are just above and set back from the beach. There has been issues over the years that access to the beach has eroded and therefore no access. Not sure what the status is at the moment. When you can get on the beach you can drive south to Woody Head, not far from Iluka.

On thing I liked about Black Rock is this is the point that the F111's used to turn to the north and then drop down over the ocean. Watched 2 of them for about 10 minutes having a play one day.

I'd happily forego my attendance at the G20 and come along, but work still pays the bills.

Looks Like we haven't got anything book in for the weekend at the moment so could possibly tag a long. The weekend b4 is the clubs Xmas.

All sounds interesting.. but..

I have almost talked myself into Fraser to camp on the west coast for the week.. possibly staying put for the entire time or moving once but not too keen on heaps of travel.. but may do some exploring..

G20 sounds like a good time to not be in Brisbane Angel
