Camping Suggestions
GDay All, my wife and I are new to the Brisbane area and miss nice quiet spots to camp on a creek or a river with our border collie. Any suggestions? We love to just pitch the tent, swim and relax by a fire without the hassles that go with commercial camping areas. Happy to travel a few hours.

RE: Camping Suggestions
Hi guys Big Grin
I have outlined just a few for you to look at south of Brisbane

by all means search on the web for camping around Brisbane and you will find a lot but here are a few for you to look at

(Off Waterfall Creek Road) near Mt Barney.

Unpowered sites. Basic bush camping, BYO everything.
you can visit the lookout further up the road by using your fourwheel drive etc.

Max 12 people per site

Book by phoning Scenic Rim Regional Council Customer Service:
Ph: (07) 5540 5111

Stinson Park at Christmas Creek back of Beaudesert
with a creek flowing by the camp sites

Barbecues, new toilets, BYO drinking water, no pets. Bookings preferred.

Directions: Take Mt Lindesay Highway at Beaudesert (towards Rathdowney). At Laravale (15km) turn left into Christmas Creek Rd. Park located on Christmas Creek adjacent to Lamington National Fitness Camp, about 42km south of Beaudesert.

Lake Moogerah
Lake Moogerah was formed when Reynald's Creeks, a tributary of the Bremmer River, was dammed in 1961. The lake is located approximately 15km west of Boonah.

Lake Moogerah Caravan and Camping Park
Muller Park Rd

This is a really quiet caravan park offers a variety of accommodation including powered and unpowered sites as well as self contained one bedroom cabins.

Site facilities include:

- Electric and Wood BBQs
- Two boat ramps
- Kiosk
Ph (07) 5463 0141
Plenty to see via the dam wall and picnic grounds, walk to Mt Edwards, drive to spicers gap, drive back into boonah for a coffee morning etc. and then onto Mt French for another lookout

hope this helps Cool
