Outback Travel Australia Website
Hi Guys

Dear Secretary - River City 4WD Club,
We've been flat-out this past month, testing many of the new 4WD wagons and utes that were released in late 2015.
We drove the new Toyota Fortuner and the HiLux, and we've done a five-vehicle comparison of extended-cab utes.
On the electrical front we checked out three pairs of Hella's latest budget-priced halogen driving lights and revealed LightForce's brand-new hybrid HID-LED combination. A test pair is on the way.
We also reviewed Redarc's breakthrough Manager30 battery management system that's lithium-battery-capable and we have one of these to test in our slide-on camper over coming months.
Bush Winch is an alternative to battery-powered winches and we gave one a thorough workout.
Tyre testing showed up some serious issues with Bridgestone's D674 mud-terrain tyre.
Following many requests from OTA site visitors we're running tag-along tours to Cape York in 2016: one is a no-camping, motel-accommodation trip and the other is an extreme experience, with 4WD skill challenges, visiting rarely-seen places. Both tag-along tours are designed to be instructional as well as highly enjoyable. Check out the tours at Discover Cape York.
Have a safe Xmas and New Year season - might see you on the Murray River!

Allan Whiting and the OTA Team.

January Newsletter

Dear Secretary - River City 4WD Club,

We hope you had a great Xmas/New Year break and are planning new 4WD adventures this year.

We're looking forward to a great 2016 at Outback Travel Australia. We finished the year on a high note, averaging more than 50,000 visitors every month during 2015, for a total of more than 3.4 million pageviews - up around 25-percent on 2014. These are Google Analytics' accurate figures, not some made-up publisher's claim!

Our new-4WD testing wrapped up over the Silly Season, with reports on the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford's new Everest.

Our test Kumho tyres have passed the 100,000km mark and we've replaced them with...the same KL61 rubber.

We've also updated our blog on the appallingly-handled VW emissions scandal that may cost VW $US32 billion.

Insurance for 4WDs can be tricky and we've updated our report on the very few who really deliver the goods.

On the camping front we checked out a Skamper Kamper, OzTent's Maverick and Tactical Campers' module for box trailers. As well, we've shown what's possible from aluminium, FRP and steel canopy makers.

We also evaluated a 3kVa generator from Briggs & Stratton and an Ice Mule soft cooler bag that really works.

In travel destinations we've mapped out a Gulf trip you might like to try when the wet season ends and we've listed all the tag-along tours available through us and Adventure Videos in 2016.

Phew!

See you in the bush,

Allan Whiting and the OTA Team

Yep if you are not confident in traveling along and have no friends then this would be a good option..
